A Buyers’ Manifesto

On this day in 1962, President John F. Kennedy, Jr. made an address about the rights consumers should have when purchasing goods and services. Since then, those rights have been defined as: 1) The right to safety, 2) The right to information, 3) The right to choice, and 4) The right to be heard.
While we agree with those rights wholeheartedly, we don’t feel they go far enough. We want consumers to have some more rights that will move us into a better future. So we declare consumers have the right to:
Buy products that are safe for the consumer and also the environment. That’s why we make all our products #plasticfree. We don’t think you should have to choose between your body and the environment.
Buy products that support animals. That’s why we are proud members of The Conservation Alliance, which combines the collective power of like-minded organizations furthering efforts to protect North America’s wild species and outdoor spaces. All of our products are certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny.
Buy products that support the community. For this reason, we have partnered with the Colorado Outward Bound School to provide young adults with scholarships for outdoor leadership programs in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Utah, Alaska, and Wyoming. 1% of all our sales go into this scholarship fund.
So join us in not just making the right to do good part of your consumer life - and when you make a choice to spend your hard earned cash, don’t settle for anything less than care for yourself, your community, and the world.
