Random Acts of Kindness

Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day! The feel-great gesture of doing something for another without expectation of it being returned is much needed in the world. (Just a little kindness goes a long way!) Read on for some of our favorite ideas on the topic:
Treat Someone
Getting a coffee or smoothie? Pay for the person’s order behind you (and ask the cashier to let them know it is an anonymous gift from someone who wants them to have an amazing day).
Be Kind Behind the Wheel
Let someone into traffic, stop for people standing at crosswalks, drive slowly in neighborhoods… you know, all courtesies that most people are too busy make time for. All it takes is one person doing the right thing for others to act with more kindness too.
Non Quid Pro Quo Foot Rub
Next time you’re watching a movie, reach over and give some love to your honey’s feet, no reciprocity required. They’ll feel so loved (and relaxed)!
Call Your Momma…
Just to say hi. Let her fill you in on all the news and tell her how you’re doing (no eye rolls if she gives you unsolicited motherly advice).
Appreciate Your Friends
Don’t hold back. Let the people in your life know what you love about them.
Leave Flowers on Your Neighbor’s Doorstep
With a note that says something like, “Hope you’re having a great week. Thanks for being an awesome neighbor.”
Do the Chore That’s Not Yours
Division of labor is a great thing, and everyone loves a break once in awhile! Make your roommate/partner/co-worker’s day by taking on one of their chores (just once).
If you’ve experienced the way another’s kindness can turn your day around, then you know what a big impact these small acts can have. Wishing you acts of random kindness, both large and small today (and every day).
