At the moment, snow is falling outside - if you live in Colorado. But that’s no reason not to get prepared for spending time in the great outdoors. And, preparation is key to a great escape. Some people prepare by researching where to go, reserving camping spots, planning treks, or making plans with climbing buddies to get out. Some folks prepare by getting that endurance up for doing long mountain bikes, hikes, or climbs. And some folks prepare their gear, making sure the winter has not worn away at important stuff and refilling the gaps where stuff may have gotten used up.
While we can’t go running with you or message your buddies to get some plans going, we can help you get your gear ready so when the sun comes out (here that is next week when it will be full on outdoors season) you can pick up and go. Being able to walk out the door into the wild means (over here) having a checklist and prepping everything so that there are no holes in the tent, no mice in the sleeping bag (yes, that has happened and they don’t like being transported 100 miles from home) and lots of blister prevention ready for the beginning of the season.
Here is our checklist for body care in the wild. All these are time tested and customer favorites for being as clean as a person needs to be when communing with nature. They are also sustainable and ready for every adventure:
Fir + Sage Castile Body Wash - Most body washes are actually not soap. They’re made from synthetic detergents like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, and cocamide DEA. Alpine Castile Body Wash is made through a natural saponification process that uses Olive oil and Coconut oil to create a lush, natural hydrating lather that doesn’t harm you or the environment.
Vetiver + Sage Shampoo - Most haircare is made of synthetically-derived detergents, like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.
